The Louisville Metro Police Foundation exists to enhance the effectiveness of the Louisville Metro Police Department by using private donations to assist officers and their families and provide much needed equipment and programs, thereby making Louisville a safer place to live, work and visit.The Louisville Metro Police Foundation is a private, independent and nonprofit organization. The is the only organization authorized to raise funds on behalf of LMPD.

In memory of Cornelis "Kees" HartOn Saturday, December 8, 2012 we lost a gentleman and true friend of law enforcement. Kees’ dedication to his career in Law Enforcement and to his family was the catalyst for the 2005 inauguration of the Louisville Metro Police Foundation, founded by his son GJ, which provides assistance to the brave men and women on the Louisville Metro Police Department.
